Gorbachev's Revolution: Jigsaw and Presentation Structure

Another complicated subject was tackled with a jigsaw activity, wherein student pairs were responsible for explaining a section of dense text and sharing answers in complete sentences. Supports included a one pager with "universal presentation starters", a one sentence summary of the section, key details and sentence stems for questions. High engagement marked this lesson, with all students presenting in front of the class while the teacher functioned as the mediator, questioner and scribe.
